Bolton are reportedly weighing up a summer move for out-of-contract Rotherham United defender Craig Morgan.

With the future of club captain Matt Mills unclear and Paddy McCarthy set to return to Crystal Palace at the end of a loan spell, Wanderers boss Neil Lennon is known to be in the market for a central defender after mixed campaigns for both David Wheater and Dorian Dervite.

Morgan has been with the Millers since joining on a free transfer from Preston North End in September 2012 and has made 101 appearances to date, scoring once, but has missed their last two games through suspension.

The 29-year-old, who has been capped 23 times by Wales, came through the youth system at Wrexham and has also represented MK Dons and Peterborough United during his career.

Rotherham are waiting to see whether they will retain their Championship status before opening negotiations over new deals, although Wanderers may decide to make a move of their own if Mills decides to seek pastures new when his contract comes to an end in June.
