Neil Lennon labelled Bolton's performance as 'outstanding', after they ran out 3-0 winners at Cardiff City on Easter Monday.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Wanderers took the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Eidur Gudjohnsen found the top corner on the half-volley after a knockdown from Emile Heskey.

Craig Davies then netted twice on the ground where he most recently represented Wales in August 2013, as Wanderers recorded their first away victory in eight attempts.

Speaking after the game, Lennon praised the performances of a number of his players and has challenged them to maintain those levels over the final few weeks of the season.

"It was an outstanding performance, particularly in the second half," Lennon told the club's official website.

"We scored three fantastic goals, and I think some of the football we played was the kind of stuff we've been striving for recently.

"I though Emile and Craig upfront were superb. They're a real handful on their day. It's the first time we've been able to play those two together in a long time. In fact, the last time we did was away at Sheffield Wednesday when we won.

"Our football in midfield with (Josh) Vela, (Barry) Bannan and Eidur made the difference. We were also very resolute at the back.

"Having (Adam) Bogdan back in the side was a real bonus. He added a real calmness about us defensively.

"We looked like a really good and strong away team today. At times we had to absorb pressure, but we did that well and looked good going forward.

"We targeted four points from our two recent games against Blackpool and Cardiff. We've got that, though I don't think we really expected it to come the way it has.

"We feel that we're safe now. The next question is can we push on and finish the season strongly?

"Our home form has been magnificent. We're now trying to find the balance away from home."
