Barry Bannan won his 20th international cap on Sunday, playing the final 16 minutes in Scotland's 6-1 victory over Gibraltar.

Bannan, who is on loan at Bolton from Crystal Palace until the end of the season, replaced Watford's Ikechi Anya in the 74th minute at Hampden Park, as the Scots moved level on points with Germany at the top of UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group D.

Scotland took the lead with 18 minutes played in Glasgow as Shaun Maloney fired home from the penalty spot, but Gibraltar made history by scoring their first competitive competition goal two minutes later when Lee Casciaro found the back of the net to equalise.

Despite that momentary setback, the hosts took complete control of the game and found themselves 4-1 up at the break courtesy of goals from Steven Fletcher, a second Maloney penalty and Everton's Steven Naismith.

Fletcher grabbed his second 13 minutes from time, before completing his hat-trick in stoppage time after an assist from Bannan.

Scotland's next international is on June 13, when they will come up against the Republic of Ireland in a potential six-pointer as the second half of qualification fixtures begins.
