Bolton must wait an extra week before finalising the signing of Manchester United's Saidy Janko, after the Red Devils failed to submit paperwork before the transfer deadline.

Janko's loan switch to Macron Stadium was announced by both clubs on Monday evening, after a deal was struck to take Wanderers wing-back Andy Kellett to Old Trafford for the remainder of the season.

Despite that, it has since emerged that United officials failed to complete and send the necessary paperwork to the relevant authorities prior to the 11pm deadline.

The 19-year-old, who was voted United's Reserve Player of the Year last season, was ineligible to face Liverpool on Wednesday night, but will now miss Bolton's Championship clash with Derby County at the weekend as a consequence of the error.

He is expected to link up with Wanderers next Monday, when he will join the club on a 93-day emergency loan deal that will see him through until the end of the season.
