Keith Andrews will see out the remainder of his Bolton contract on loan at MK Dons, after Wanderers cut short his time at Watford.

Andrews joined Bolton on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion in June 2012 and has gone on to make 29 appearances for the club, the last of which came in a 3-1 victory at Shrewsbury Town in August 2013.

The 34-year-old spent last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and, after a successful spell at the AMEX Stadium, completed a season-long switch to Watford last July.

Andrews played 11 times for the Hornets, scoring once, but hadn't featured since being substituted 62 minutes into their 2-1 defeat at home to Derby County in November.

Last month, MK Dons boss Karl Robinson stated his desire to take the former Republic of Ireland international back to the club he represented between 2006 and 2008, and he has managed to strike a deal in the dying stages of the transfer window after the player's stay at Vicarage Road was terminated.

Andrews has been training alone for several weeks, but will link up with his new teammates on Tuesday morning and could come into contention for a starting role when the Dons travel to Bradford City on Saturday.
