Phil Dowd will referee Saturday's FA Cup third round tie between Bolton and Wigan Athletic at Macron Stadium.
Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town last Sunday, while the Latics were beaten 1-0 at home by Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening.
Dowd, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 16 matches so far this season - issuing 69 yellow cards and four red.
His last outing was on January 1, when Tottenham Hotspur ran out 5-3 winners over Chelsea at White Hart Lane. The Staffordshire official produced four yellow cards in that game, as well as awarding a first-half penalty to the home side.
Dowd's last match in charge of Bolton was in October 2012, when Wanderers were held to a 2-2 draw by Leeds United at the Reebok Stadium. Four yellow cards were shown that evening, with Jay Spearing and Kevin Davies being cautioned for the hosts.
The last time he refereed a Wigan fixture was in April 2013, when they played out a 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. Five players were booked in that game, while Rangers forward Bobby Zamora was the recipient of a straight red card.
