Lee Chung-Yong has left Bolton, after reporting for international duty with South Korea ahead of January's Asian Cup.

Chung-Yong was named in Uli Stielike's final 23-man squad last week, ahead of a tournament that could see him absent from Macron Stadium for as much as an entire calendar month.

South Korea face Saudi Arabia in a warm-up friendly on Sunday, January 4, 2015, before kicking off their tournament against Oman six days later. They face Kuwait on January 13, before finishing their group stage schedule with a game against host nation Australia on January 17.

Should they progress to the knockout stages of the competition, Chung-Yong could be involved in action for his country up to and including January 31, which is the date of the final at Stadium Australia, in Sydney.

The eventual winners will earn the right to participate in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, which is the traditional curtain raiser ahead of the following year's World Cup.
