Bolton have rejected a request from Watford, who wish to terminate Keith Andrews' loan deal at Vicarage Road.
Andrews, who is due to spend the season with the Hornets, has made 11 appearances during his time with Wanderers' Championship rivals, but hasn't featured since their 2-1 defeat at home to Derby County last month.
The 34-year-old, who is reportedly on a £25,000-a-week contract, hasn't trained with Slavisa Jokanovic's side for the last fortnight and a report in the Watford Observer suggests the Golden Boys will continue to pay half of the player's wage for the rest of the campaign - unless Bolton can strike a deal to send the Republic of Ireland international elsewhere.
Andrews joined Bolton on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion in June 2012 and has made 29 appearances for the Trotters, scoring four goals. His last outing in a Wanderers shirt was in August 2013, before he was loaned out to Brighton & Hove Albion as former manager Dougie Freedman made space for the permanent signing of Jay Spearing.
His contract at Macron Stadium is set to expire at the end of the season and current Bolton boss Neil Lennon has previously admitted he doesn't expect to see him back at the club.
