Andy Kellett celebrated earning an extension to his Plymouth Argyle loan on Saturday, by scoring his first senior goal in their 3-2 victory at Northampton Town.

Kellett, who graduated from Bolton's academy to play three first-team games at the end of last season, has been on loan at Plymouth since October and last week put pen-to-paper on a deal which will see him remain at Home Park until January 17, 2015.

The 21-year-old was making his 10th appearance for the Pilgrims in their game at Sixfields Stadium and he capped an impressive performance by netting their second goal, giving the away side a 2-0 lead going into the half-time interval.

Peter Hartley had given John Sheridan's side a 2nd-minute lead on their travels, before Kellett doubled the advantage with a stunning solo goal. Picking the ball up on the left-flank, the Wanderers winger raced past four Northampton defenders before slotting the ball past a helpless Matt Duke.

Lewi Alessandra made it 3-0 just after the hour mark and despite late strikes from Ivan Toney (79) and Stewart Murdoch (89), Argyle held on to move up to 5th place in League Two.
