Names from Bolton Wanderers' past continue to confirm their involvement in Kevin Davies' testimonial, with John McGinlay among those now on the list.

McGinlay, who represented Bolton between 1992 and 1997, scoring 118 goals in 245 appearances, will appear in the charitable event on either July 31 or August 1, 2015, in what would be his first outing at Macron Stadium since his own testimonial match more than a decade ago.

Joining him will be names such as El-Hadji Diouf, Gretar Steinsson and Heidar Helguson, while Sam Allardyce, who previously played and managed the club, looks set to oversee the game as manager of Davies' team.

Mark Halsey will almost certainly referee the game, having been denied the opportunity to take charge of Wanderers in a competitive fixture during his career, while phone calls have been made regarding the availability of Jay-Jay Okocha, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Kevin Nolan and Jason McAteer.

The fine details of the event have yet to be fully revealed, although recent rumours seem to suggest the testimonial match could be a precursor to a pre-season friendly - just a week before the 2015/16 Championship season is due to begin.

Davies has reached out to former Bolton star Fernando Hierro, who is now the assistant manager at Real Madrid. Hierro, who played for Wanderers between 2004 and 2005, could be persuaded into making a one-off return to England and there is a possibility that he wouldn't travel alone - with Los Blancos being earmarked as potential opponents for what would be a momentous occasion.
