Neil Lennon admits he had some harsh half-time words for Craig Davies, who later went on to score Bolton's winning goal against Huddersfield Town.

Davies netted in the 67th minute against the Terriers, slotting home from close range to finish off a free-flowing move involving Lee Chung-Yong and Liam Feeney.

Speaking after the game, Lennon said he was disappointed with the first-half performance of his lone-forward and let him know as much at the break - but couldn't have any complains about his on-field response after the restart, saying his efforts were rewarded with a goal.

"I thought Craig was a little sloppy in the first half and I told him that at half time," Lennon told the club's official website.

"He then came out and looked really lively. He has shown how much of a handful he can be in recent weeks and is now a very important player for us.

"Craig gets through a mountain of work and for him to be in the right place at the right time to score the winner is something that he deserves."
