Bolton boss Neil Lennon paid tribute to everybody involved at the club, after securing a 3-1 victory over Brentford in his first home game in charge.

Wanderers had won one and lost one of their two away games under Lennon thus far, but moved to within two points of safety after goals from Neil Danns, Mark Davies and Craig Davies gave them a fully deserved win over the Bees at Macron Stadium.

Speaking after the game, Lennon expressed his delight at the performance of his players and paid tribute to the supporters who welcomed him with open arms prior to kick-off.

"I thought that in the second half we were absolutely fantastic," Lennon told the club's official website. "We should have been out of sight earlier, because I thought that some of our build-up play was very good.

"Did we deserve to win the game? Absolutely. Did we look an exciting team today? Absolutely.

"There was a fantastic pace to the game. Brentford very much played their part and you have to give credit to Mark for the way he sets his teams up. The game was very open for large parts.

"It was end to end, but I felt like we had a real go today and we deserved everything we got out of the game.

"At times we showed that bit of anxiety, with one or two of our players snatching at the ball in the final third.

"We were heroic at the back when we needed to be and defended very well. It was always going to be hard when Brentford pulled one back. When you're two goals up it’s a bit of a funny scoreline.

"In Mark Davies and Lee Chung-Yong we've got players who can light up stadiums and they get bums off of seats.

"I felt that the atmosphere today was fantastic. The supporters were magnificent all afternoon and the greeting I got as I walked out onto the pitch gave me goose bumps.

"Even when we had difficult moments in the game the supporters stuck with us - that's going to be massively important going forward.

"The performance was good, maybe not as dominant as it was at Charlton, but we got the win in the end.

"What pleases me is that we've got three goals - two of them were Premier League quality. That'll give our players confidence going forward.

"We've taken six points out of nine, which is certainly a positive start. We're now within touching distance of getting out of the bottom three, however we've got some very difficult games coming up and we mustn't get carried away."
