Lennon Eyes Moves For Hooper & Celtic Duo

Bolton boss Neil Lennon has set his sights on an unlikely triple swoop for Norwich City forward Gary Hooper and Celtic duo Anthony Stokes and Kris Commons.

Lennon was appointed as the successor to Dougie Freedman last Sunday, five months after leaving Celtic, and has publicly declared his intention to strengthen Wanderers' attacking options - having been left unimpressed by the strike rates of his current crop of players so far this season.

Hooper became one of Lennon's first signings as Celtic manager, when he made a £2.4million move from Scunthorpe United in July 2010, and he went on to score 82 goals in 137 appearances during a three-year spell at Celtic Park, before completing a £5million move to Norwich last year.

He scored eight goals in his debut campaign at Carrow Road, but has been restricted to just two appearances this season because of a niggling calf injury.

The 26-year-old would unquestionably be out of reach in terms of a permanent transfer, but Lennon is hoping to add a short-term boost to his attacking options by striking a loan move that could last until the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, reports in Scotland suggest Lennon is also weighing up moves for Celtic's Stokes and Commons.

Stokes is another player who was taken to Parkhead by Lennon. He has since gone on to score 72 goals in 166 appearances for the Hoops, while Commons, who has scored 70 goals in 159 appearances for the Scottish champions has also been linked with a reunion with his former boss.

Commons is out of contract at the end of the season and is said to be interested in having one last crack at English football, following previous spells at Stoke City, Nottingham Forest and Derby County, while Stokes could be available for a fee of around £1million.

Despite the latest round of speculation linking both players with moves away from Celtic Park, Bhoys boss Ronny Delia insists he isn't looking to sell any of his key players.

"We have very good dialogue and the process is on-going with Kris' contract talks," Delia said. "So this doesn't frighten me.

"We don't want to sell to anyone. We want to build a team here."
