Former Bolton captain Zat Knight has completed a move to MLS side Colorado Rapids, after being granted a working visa by US authorities.

Knight left Wanderers at the end of June, following a five-year spell at the Reebok Stadium, and began training in the States last month.

The 34-year-old recently returned to England while his application to enter America was analysed, but he has now put pen to paper on an undisclosed contract and could make his debut against Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

Speaking about his new start, Knight said: "It's been a long process, getting all the paperwork finished, but I'm really thrilled to be here.

"I've followed the club's matches while being back in England and am working hard to get into the mix quickly and contribute the best I can for the final matches of the season."

Knight made 191 appearances during his time at Bolton, following a £4million transfer from Aston Villa. He scored four goals.
