Lee Turner and Andy Hughes will take temporary charge of Bolton, following the club's decision to sack manager Dougie Freedman.

Freedman's near two-year reign came to an end on Friday, following a dismal run that had seen Wanderers win just one of their opening 10 league games, leading to speculation that the academy duo of Jimmy Phillips and David Lee would take charge of the weekend game against Bournemouth.

The futures of Freedman's assistant, Lennie Lawrence, and first-team coach, Curtis Fleming, remains unknown, although it would appear they too have been removed from their posts following the announcement of the caretaker management team.

Turner arrived at Bolton from Crystal Palace in December 2012, first working alongside goalkeeping coach Phil Hughes before taking sole responsibility for the role a number of weeks later.

Hughes, meanwhile, joined the club in July under the role of professional development coach. He has appeared on the bench on numerous occasions this season, but has seen his playing action restricted to the development squad.

A two-week international break immediately follows the weekend game against the Cherries, providing Wanderers chiefs with time to make a decision on Freedman's successor, but Turner and Hughes will look after first-team affairs until a new man is found.
