Andy Haines will referee Saturday's Championship fixture between Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday at Macron Stadium.
Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Leeds United before the international break, while the Wednesday were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest in their final game before a fortnight off.
Haines, who will take charge of the game, has officiated three matches so far this season - issuing 14 yellow cards and one red.
His last outing was on September 6, when he was the man in the middle for Carlisle United's 4-4 draw with AFC Wimbledon in League Two. The Tyne & Wear official produced three yellow cards in that game, as well as one red. He also pointed to the penalty spot, in favour of the visitors.
Haines' last match in charge of Bolton was on Boxing Day, in 2013, when Wanderers were 1-0 winners over Barnsley at Oakwell.
The last time he refereed a Wednesday fixture was on March 12, when they were beaten 1-0 by Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadiun. Three yellow cards were shown that evening - with the Owls' Jeremy Helan one of the recipients.
