Reports on transfer deadline day suggest Fulham are exploring the possibility of taking Jermaine Beckford to Craven Cottage.

Despite ending last season as Bolton's leading goalscorer, Beckford has had to watch on from the substitutes' bench in recent weeks after falling behind Joe Mason and Craig Davies in the pecking order at Macron Stadium.

The Guardian's Daniel Taylor is reporting talks between the 30-year-old and Fulham have opened, although Wanderers have denied any knowledge of the situation.

Beckford joined Bolton from Leicester City in July 2013 and scored nine goals in his debut campaign, as he claimed the club's Golden Boot award.

He has two strikes to his name so far this season, both of which came in the League Cup victory at Crewe Alexandra last Tuesday, but struck a nerve with supporters by gesturing to Leeds United fans in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Elland Road - one, which, if reports are to be believed, could have come in his final game for the club.
