Bolton boss Dougie Freedman will link up with the Scotland under-19 side, ahead of Tuesday's game against Czech Republic.
Freedman, who won two senior caps for his country, scoring once, has reportedly impressed chiefs at the Scottish FA, who believe he could one day graduate to the national team's top job.
The Scots play host to their Czech counterparts at Greenock Morton's Cappielow Park, although Freedman's exact role hasn't yet become clear.
The under-19 side are currently managed by former Bolton first-team coach, Ricky Sbragia.
