As the transfer deadline day speculation continues to flow, Bolton are being linked with a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan.

Garvan recently entered the final 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and has reportedly been told he is free to seek a move to pastures new.

The 26-year-old was a regular part of the Palace side that won promotion to the Premier League 16 months ago, scoring four goals in 32 appearances, but hasn't featured in league competition for the Eagles since August 2013 - having spent the final two months of last season on loan at Millwall.

Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman is said to be willing to offer Garvan a short-term contract at Macron Stadium, with injuries to Mark Davies, Liam Trotter, Josh Vela and Andy Kellett leaving him low on options in the middle of the park.
