Bolton Consider Butland Approach

Bolton look set to make a move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, but will only press ahead with a deal if Adam Bogdan leaves the club this month.

Bogdan recently entered the final 12 months of his contract at Macron Stadium and talks over a new deal were put on hold last month, in an attempt to curb speculation over his immediate future.

Fulham and German side FSV Mainz have both shown an interest in the Wanderers goalkeeper this summer, although rumours over a departure have cooled in recent weeks.

Butland began his career at Birmingham City and moved to Stoke for £4million in January 2013. He has made just four appearances for the Potters, during which time he has spent time on loan at Birmingham, Barnsley and Leeds United.

The 21-year-old, who has been capped once by England, is also courting interest from Championship trio Brighton & Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and Leeds.
