Accrington Stanley have completed the signing of Jay Lynch, who was released by Bolton at the end of June.

Lynch had been tipped for a bright future with Wanderers, but struggled with injuries during his final two years with the club and, as a result, lost his place to fellow goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett in the second-half of last season.

The 21-year-old's contract came to an end earlier in the summer and, having left Bolton without a senior appearance under his belt, has joined League Two's Accrington on non-contract terms.

He was an unused substitute in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Southend United - a game which saw former Wanderers duo Nicky Hunt and Cian Bolger feature on opposing sides.
