Watford have completed the signing of Keith Andrews on a season-long loan deal from Championship rivals Bolton.

Andrews joined Wanderers on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2012 and made 27 appearances in his debut campaign at the Reebok Stadium.

He featured in the opening two games of last season, but the permanent signing of Jay Spearing from Liverpool meant the Republic of Ireland international was sent out on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 33-year-old played 37 times for the Seagulls, but a change of manager in the off-season meant any hopes of another stint at the AMEX Stadium took a major blow.

Andrews had been linked with both Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday, but Watford made their move earlier in the week and have now concluded a deal which will see the player complete the final 12 months of his Wanderers contract at Vicarage Road.

Under the terms of the agreement, Andrews will be ineligible to face his parent club when the two sides meet on the opening day of the season - as well as the return fixture at the Macron Stadium on February 14, 2015.
