Tim Ream has signed a new three-year contract at Bolton Wanderers, keeping him at the Macron Stadium until the summer of 2017.

Ream joined Wanderers from New York Red Bulls in January 2012, but struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League prior to the club's relegation later that year.

The United States international was a bit part player in his first full campaign in England, but found his best form last season and won multiple Player of the Year awards - including our very own here at Burnden Aces.

In May, we broke the news that the 26-year-old had agreed terms on a new deal with the Trotters and, following a successful work permit hearing, Ream's new deal has been signed and ratified by the relevant authorities.

Speaking to the club's official website about his new deal, Ream said: "I'm really pleased to have extended my deal here.

"I certainly feel like I've developed as a player during my time over here and with my family, we're settled in the local area."

Ream had 12 months remaining on his previous deal, but, with his long-term future committed to the club, he can put speculation regarding his future to one side and focus on adding to his 77 appearances for Wanderers to date.
