Bolton have completed the signing of Crystal Palace defender Dean Moxey on a free transfer, after he signed a three-year contract.

Moxey's three-and-a-half-year stay at Palace came to an end on Monday, when his contract came to an end, prompting Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman to make a move for the 28-year-old - who he took to Selhurst Park from Derby County in 2011.

The former Exeter City defender made more than 100 appearances during his time with the Eagles, including 20 in the Premier League last season, but was deemed surplus to requirements by current Palace boss Tony Pulis at the end of the campaign.

Moxey, who primarily operates as a left-back, will provide competition for Marc Tierney, allowing Tim Ream to move back into his more familiar position at the heart of the defence.

Freedman's newest signing is likely to put an end to interest in Moxey's former Palace teammate Jonathan Parr, who failed to agree personal terms at the Macron Stadium.
