Seven senior Bolton players became free agents today, including Stuart Holden and Andre Moritz, after their contracts expired on Monday night.
Holden and Moritz are joined by Arran Lee-Barrett, Chris Eagles, Tyrone Mears, Zat Knight and Jay Lynch through the exit door at the Macron Stadium, although fresh deals are being discussed with the first three of those names.
Holden has played just 38 games in four-and-a-half years for Wanderers and he is expected to remain at the club in some capacity, as he attempts to rebuild his career one more time after his latest injury setback.
Moritz is currently back in his native Brazil, considering a new contract offer from Bolton - although Cypriot side APOEL FC are also said to be interested in his services for next season. The 27-year-old has so far declined to comment on speculation surrounding his future, although he did refute rumours linking him with a move to Leeds United last month.
Lee-Barrett has also been offered a new deal by Dougie Freedman, but, with the summer departure of Jay Lynch and subsequent signing of 20-year-old goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons from Crystal Palace, the former Ipswich Town stopper may decide to look elsewhere for first-team football.
Eagles and Mears both joined Bolton from Burnley in the summer of 2011 and leave after mixed spells at the club, while Knight's time with the Trotters comes to an end with 191 appearances under his belt.
