Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has declared his interest in signing out-of-contract Crystal Palace defender Jonathan Parr on a free transfer.

Parr will leave Palace next week, after three years at Selhurst Park, after being told his contract would not be renewed by Eagles boss Tony Pulis.

The 25-year-old, who has won 10 caps for Norway, was a £300,000 signing for Palace in 2011 and won the Player of the Year award in his debut campaign - under the management of the current Wanderers boss.

With news emerging that Marc Tierney will miss the start of next season, Bolton are desperately short at left-back and Freedman says the potential signing of Parr is something he would be interested in.

"I would be very interested if we can get it done on a free transfer," Freedman told The Bolton News.

"I have worked with Jonathan before at Crystal Palace, he's a good age, he has experience of the Championship and the Premier League and most of all, he's a talented player.

"We don't have many options at left-back at the moment so if we can get something done on a free, then of course, I'd like it to happen."

After coming through the youth system at Lyn Oslo, Parr played for Aalesund between 2007 and 2011, before going to on make 101 appearances for Palace over a three-year period.
