Bolton forward Marvin Sordell will undergo a medical at Burnley on Friday, ahead of a proposed £500,000 transfer to Turf Moor.

News broke last Friday that the Clarets were interested in signing the former England under-21 international, who has made just 29 appearances for the Trotters since a £3.2million move from Watford in January 2012.

Sordell spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic, scoring eight goals in 35 outings, and his time at the Macron Stadium looks to be at an end, with a move to the Premier League close to fruition.

Should the transfer reach a conclusion, Sordell will be reunited with the manager who sold him at Watford - Sean Dyche. He played 81 times for the Hornets, between 2009 and 2012, scoring 27 times, and Dyche will be hoping the 23-year-old can recapture the form that once made him one of the hottest prospects in English football.

Sordell has been training at England's St George's Park ahead of the hectic pre-season schedule, so he is expected to be in good condition ahead of a transfer that could be made in the next 24 hours.
