Lee Chung-Yong won his 56th international cap on Tuesday night, playing 90 minutes in South Korea's 1-1 draw with Russia at the World Cup, in Brazil.

Chung-Yong made history at the Arena Pantanal, in Cuiaba, as he became the first Bolton player to feature in two separate World Cup tournaments whilst being contracted to the club - following his appearance in South Africa, in 2010.

After a goalless first half, South Korea took the lead midway through the second period as Lee Keun-Ho came off the bench to give his country the lead. The 29-year-old, who plays for Sangju Sangmu, took aim with a speculative 25-yard strike, which Russia goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev somehow spilled into his own net.

Akinfeev was clearly distraught by his error, but Russia were behind for just six minutes as Aleksandr Kerzhakov, also on as a substitute, lashed home from close range after the ball had pinged around the Korean penalty area.

The result means both sides pick up a point from their opening Group H fixture, while Belgium top the table after they beat Algeria 2-1 earlier in the day.

South Korea return to action on Sunday, when they face Algeria at the Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre.
