Bolton will play host to Bury in the opening week of the new season, after being drawn against them in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
The draw, which was made on Tuesday morning, will see the two neighbouring towns collide for the first time in a competitive fixture since October 2002 - when a Bernard Mendy own-goal gave the Shakers a 1-0 victory at the Reebok Stadium, at the second round stage of the same competition.
The tie will take place at the Macron Stadium in the week commending August 11, 2014.
A promotional campaign from the competition's sponsor - Capital One - is granting children access to the game for just £1. Full ticketing information will be announced closer to the time.
