Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has completed the signing of goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons from his former club, Crystal Palace.
Fitzsimons confirmed the news on his official Twitter page, saying he had joined the club after successfully coming through a medical.
The 20-year-old has worked his way through the ranks at Selhurst Park, but failed to make a single senior appearance for the club - being behind Julian Speroni and Wayne Hennessey in the pecking order. He made the bench on 10 occasions last season, but that elusive first outing passed him by.
Fitzsimons has signed a two-year contract with Wanderers and is likely to fill the void left by the upcoming departure of Jay Lynch, who will leave the club when his deal expires on June 30.
Fitzsimons, who will be officially confirmed as a Bolton player on July 1, looks set to join Jamie Fullarton's development squad, with the aim of pushing Adam Bogdan and Andy Lonergan - both of whom are about to enter the final 12 months of their contracts - all the way for a first-team place.
