Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has ruled out a summer move for out-of-contract Blackpool defender Craig Cathcart.

Reports on Monday linked Wanderers with a move for the former Manchester United academy graduate, who is said to be attracting interest from the Seasiders and their Championship rivals Huddersfield Town.

The 25-year-old looks set to bring an end to a four-year spell at Bloomfield Road at the end of June, but Freedman says he isn't interested in the Northern Ireland international after completing the transfer of Dorian Dervite from Charlton Athletic.

"There is nothing in that," Freedman told The Bolton News.

"He is not a player who interests us. I don't know where that has come from.

"We have agreed to sign Dorian Dervite in that position and he is a fantastic signing for us."

Cathcart joined Blackpool from United in August 2010 and has gone on to make 117 appearances for the club, scoring three times.
