Bolton have agreed to sign Liam Trotter on a free transfer from Millwall, in a deal which will go through on July 1.

Trotter spent the second half of the season on loan at the Reebok Stadium, scoring once in 16 appearances for Wanderers, as Dougie Freedman's side went on a run which saw them lose just two of their final 16 games.

The 25-year-old returned to Millwall at the end of the campaign, but will leave The Den when his contract expires on June 30. He has signed a three-year contract at Bolton and will link up with the squad when they report back for pre-season.

Trotter, who has also represented Ipswich Town, Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United throughout his career, scored 24 goals in 138 appearances for Millwall and becomes Wanderers' second signing of the summer - the first of which was Neil Danns.
