Kevin Davies' testimonial match at Bolton could take place in August 2015, acting as the finale for Wanderers' 2015/16 pre-season preparations.

Davies left Wanderers last summer after 10 years of service at the Reebok Stadium and was granted a testimonial by The Football League in May, following weeks of uncertainty about whether it would be given the go-ahead.

The 37-year-old, who now plays his football at Preston North End, is hoping to bring past stars such as Ivan Campo and Stelios Giannakopoulos back for one last game in front of the Bolton supporters and has held talks with Trotters chairman Phil Gartside.

Posting on his official Twitter account, the one-time England international confirmed talks had started ahead of the much anticipated fixture next year.
