March was a bad month for Bolton's travelling loanees, with red cards and Wembley heartbreak making the headlines.

Marvin Sordell went into the month just 90 minutes away from an FA Cup semi-final with Charlton Athletic. However, he missed out on their quarter-final matchday squad as the Addicks were beaten 2-0 at League One Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

It was the only blip in an otherwise successful month for the former England under-21 international, who started four games and came on as a substitute in another two. Sordell had looked to be out-of-favour under Chris Powell's management, but the appointment of Jose Riga appears to have provided him with a fresh opportunity to impress at The Valley.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Keith Andrews played 90 minutes in six of Brighton & Hove Albion's seven games. He was ineligible for the other fixture, which saw the Seagulls win 2-0 at the Reebok Stadium on March 15.

Dropping into League One, Josh Vela's first three games at Notts County have all ended in victories - as the Magpies have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone, after previously looking certain to drop into League Two.

Vela has completed 90 minutes in all three games and his tough-tackling attitude saw him earn a yellow card in a recent 3-1 win at Crewe Alexandra.

Sanmi Odelusi's loan spell at MK Dons was extended until the end of the season last week. He played seven times for the Dons in March, but ended it on a sour note as he was sent off in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Odelusi was introduced as a 58th minute substitute at stadium:mk, but lasted just 22 minutes as he received two yellow cards in the space of just 60 seconds - as he saw red for the first time in his career.

Elsewhere, Craig Davies' honeymoon period at Preston North End appears to be over, after two of his six appearances in March were restricted to late cameo roles. The former Barnsley forward completed 90 minutes just once - in a 2-1 victory over Walsall on March 1.

Finally, another man struggling to impress is Tom Eaves. The 22-year-old played five times this month, but remains without a goal since February 1. He has scored just twice since joining Salop in November, a side in which he netted six times in just 10 games last season.
