Bolton boss Dougie Freedman was happy with his team's performance, as they claimed a 0-0 draw at Derby County on Tuesday night.

Wanderers may have seen a three-match winning run come to a close, but they also extended their unbeaten run to five games by picking up a point at the iPro Stadium against a side who are challenging for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking after the game, Freedman acknowledged the defensive nature of the performance may not have been the easiest on the eye but he praised his players for sticking to the game plan and picking up a positive result against the Rams.

"At the end of the day, we've managed to pick up a very good point and one that we should be proud of," Freedman told the club's official website.

"Despite the difficult result that they had on Saturday against Millwall, they've been flying and they came out with even more energy because they're still fighting for promotion.

"We showed a resilience in our defending and when we asked questions of the goalkeeper I felt we did very well.

"I'm very proud of the point because it is one that we wouldn't have got earlier on in the season.

"I felt we had to reshape very quickly because Derby showed a very attacking display - one which was one of the better attacking displays I've seen this season.

"It is fair play to them because they played very well, but we had to revert to make sure that we could withstand that and defend against them and I felt like we did that.

"Derby are probably disappointed that they haven't won the game given that they had so many chances, but from our point of view we can't fault our effort and commitment nor our concentration and defending.

"We are professional sportsmen and we come into work every day and give our best - we will be working very hard between now and the end of the season to ensure that we finish in a strong position."
