Fernando Hierro says he would be 'honoured' if Bolton Wanderers ever asked him to become manager at the Reebok Stadium.
Hierro spent the final 12 months of his playing days with Wanderers, before calling time on his legendary career in 2005.
Nine years on, the 45-year-old has completed his coaching badges and is reported to be interested in beginning a managerial career - with speculation last year linking him with a move to Australia. He was also linked with the Bolton job in October 2012, following the dismissal of Owen Coyle, but he was always a 40/1 outsider with the majority of bookmakers.
However, in a Twitter Q&A session for Heineken, Hierro responded to one Wanderers supporter - saying he would be 'honoured' if the club ever made contact with him over a managerial position.
@Macaullay95 I would at least be honoured if asked. #s04rma #ShareTheSofa #UCL
