Craig Davies was on the scoresheet on Tuesday night, as Preston North End were held to a 3-3 draw by Rotherham United at Deepdale.

Davies joined Preston on loan from Bolton on January's transfer deadline day and netted on his debut 24 hours later, as Simon Grayson's side beat Notts County 2-0 on home soil.

The Wales international had gone three games without a goal since then, but was back on the scoresheet on Tuesday night in a thrilling game between two of the League One promotion contenders - who currently reside in the play-off places.

Lee Frecklington and an own goal from Tom Clarke put Rotherham into a two-goal lead inside 11 minutes at Deepdale, but the hosts turned the game around by the midway stage of the second half - courtesy of goals from Davies (37), Paul Gallagher (60) and Joe Garner (65).

Frecklington equalised for the visitors with less than 60 seconds of normal time remaining, meaning Preston spurned a glorious opportunity to close the gap between themselves and the automatic promotion places to just four points.

Elsewhere, Conor Wilkinson played 59 minutes in Torquay United's 1-1 draw with Burton Albion, while Sanmi Odelusi was an unused substitute as MK Dons won 2-1 at Oldham Athletic.
