Bolton have invited Sweden international Mikael Dyrestam for a trial at the club, which will begin next week.

Dyrestam is currently a free agent, after leaving IFK Goteborg at the end of December, and is set to embark on the next chapter of his career.

The 22-year-old, who plays primarily as a centre-back but can play in any position across the back-four, came through the academy with the Swedish giants, making his debut in 2009. He went on to make a total of 81 appearances, scoring two goals, and helped the club to a 3rd-placed finish in the 2013 Allsvenskan - which saw them qualify for the 2014/15 UEFA Europa League.

He overcame a career threatening knee ligament rupture in 2010 and his form saw him earn an international debut in January 2012 - in a 2-0 victory over Bahrain. His second and most recent cap came days later, as Sweden beat Qatar 5-0.

With Tim Ream, Zat Knight, Matt Mills and Alex Baptiste playing almost every game since Christmas, Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman is desperate for reinforcements in his defence - despite having David Wheater and Hayden White available for selection.
