Blackpool have reportedly opened talks with Bolton over a loan deal for out-of-favour full-back Tyrone Mears.
Mears joined Wanderers in the summer of 2011 but has been restricted to just 32 appearances for the club. A training ground accident saw him break his leg just days after moving to the Reebok Stadium and he made just one appearance as the Trotters were relegated from the Premier League in his debut campaign.
He made a total of 28 appearances last season, but found himself out of the team following a 1-1 draw at Derby County in February 2013. He featured in two Capital One Cup ties in August, before making his one and only league appearance of the season - in a 4-1 defeat at Blackburn Rovers.
Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has previously said that Mears can leave the club, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Blackpool could now pounce on the player's availability, with a successful loan stint at Bloomfield Road likely to lead to a permanent move.
