Neil Danns has shrugged off talk of Bolton's money issues, saying he may not have joined the club if they were as bad as people made out.

Wanderers reported a club-record loss of £50.7million in the financial year ending June 2013, seeing the total value of debt rise to a new high of £163.8million - of which £151.3million is owed to club owner Eddie Davies' parent company, Moonshift Investment Ltd.

After scoring the winning goal at Barnsley on Boxing Day, Danns returned to Leicester City but was back at the Reebok Stadium for Saturday's FA Cup victory over Blackpool and will remain at the club for the rest of the season.

Speaking after that game, Danns says the club's financial results should serve to bring everybody together as one and he doesn't believe Wanderers are in for troubled times ahead.

"In times like this the whole club has got to stay together - the fans, the players, everyone around the place," Danns told The Bolton News.

"We have to make the best of the situation that we're in. If we're successful then that will continue off the pitch.

"Since I have been here the guys have been amazing. They have stuck together. The manager has been brilliant and he's got a plan. I think he will achieve his plan.

"I have the privilege of seeing inside the place and if I had thought for one second that this was a club in disarray or that there were troubled times ahead then it might have made me think twice, but there was none of that."

Danns has made a total of 14 appearances so far this season, scoring four goals. His contract at Leicester expires at the end of the campaign.
