Bolton have turned down the opportunity to make the signing of loan midfielder Jan Gregus a permanent arrangement.

Gregus joined Wanderers from Banik Ostrava in January 2013 and has spent the last 12 months at the Reebok Stadium. He earned rave reviews during his early days at the club, but the consistency of his performances dipped as the year went on.

In November, Dougie Freedman admitted he was looking to renegotiate the terms of the deal - which had previously included a permanent transfer clause - and the Trotters boss has got his wish, with the 22-year-old now set to return to his parent club.

Gregus trained with the first-team squad during the course of pre-season, but leaves the club having failed to make a single senior appearance.
