Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson says he will discuss Neil Danns' future with the player and hasn't ruled out sending him back on loan to Bolton in January.

Danns enjoyed a largely successful three-month spell at the Reebok Stadium between September and December, before returning to the Foxes after the Trotters' 1-0 victory at Barnsley on Boxing Day.

The 31-year-old wasn't included in the City squad that beat Wanderers on Sunday and was also a notable absentee in their 3-1 victory at Millwall on New Year's Day.

Speaking earlier in the week, Pearson says he is aware of the form Danns showed at Bolton and he will sit down and discuss the player's future in private before making a decision on what happens next.

"It's something I will discuss first with him before we talk in any kind of public sense," Pearson told The Bolton News.

"I know Bolton have probably expressed a wish to either extend his loan or do something more permanent.

"The appropriate action is to speak to him first. He is a likeable guy but I don't think it is right to be talking too publicly about the next step.

"Clearly his loan period was successful for him and for Bolton and I will have a chat with him at some point to see where we go."

Danns made 13 appearances during his short time in the North West, scoring four times. His contract at Leicester expires at the end of the season.
