Bolton midfielder Gary Fraser has been given a seven-match ban, for an incident which occurred during a Partick Thistle under-20 match.

Fraser, who is currently on loan with the Scottish Premiership side, was sent off during a youth game against Dunfermline last month. In the referee's match report, the 19-year-old was accused of 'punching a player on the opposing team' and 'thereafter kicking him repeatedly on the head and body'.

He received an automatic two-match ban for his dismissal, but faced the prospect of a year-long ban at a SFA disciplinary hearing on Thursday.

Fraser has managed to avoid the maximum ban, but will now miss Thistle's next seven games. The ban will expire on January 1, 2014, three days before he is due to return to Bolton.
