Dougie Freedman wants to renegotiate the terms of Jan Gregus' loan deal at Bolton, which could put a permanent move in doubt.

After a successful trial at the club, Gregus joined Wanderers on a year-long loan from Banik Ostrava in January. As part of the deal, a clause was inserted that gave the Trotters the option of turning it into a permanent arrangement when his temporary stay came to an end.

Pre-season friendlies aside, Gregus has failed to make the step up from the development squad to first-team level. Freedman admits to being a fan of the former Slovakia under-21 international, but says he needs to look at his options when the transfer window opens.

"We have got an option to buy him in January and we are going to look at that," Freedman told The Bolton News. "The bottom line is, is it negotiable yes or no?

"He hasn't really featured as much as he would have liked to and it has been difficult for him. But he is a good player - I like him."
