Bolton have completed the signing of goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett on a two-month contract, following his release from Millwall.

With Adam Bogdan set to miss between three to six weeks of action with a knee ligament injury, and Jay Lynch also sidelined for a month, Wanderers are desperate for cover in the goalkeeping department.

Andy Lonergan looks set to deputise for the weekend visit of Ipswich Town, but academy scholars Harry Campbell and Erik Bukran were the club's only available cover. Bukran joined Bolton in the summer, while Campbell only made his debut for the development squad on Tuesday.

Lee-Barrett came through the Norwich City academy before moving to Cardiff City in 2003. He made just one substitute appearance for the Bluebirds, before moving on to spells at Weymouth, Coventry City, Hartlepool United, Ipswich Town and, most recently, Millwall.

The 29-year-old's most successful playing period came at Hartlepool, where he made 65 appearances for the club between 2007 and 2009. He made 42 appearances during a four-year spell at Ipswich, before joining Millwall in the summer.

He failed to make any senior appearances for the Lions and has been granted his release. He will spend the next two months at the Reebok Stadium, where he will provide cover for Lonergan during Bogdan's time on the sidelines.

Speaking about his decision to bring the former Ipswich stopper to the Reebok Stadium, Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman said he found it difficult to bring in a backup goalkeeper of Lee-Barrett's experience and quality.

"It was extremely difficult convincing someone with the right experience and quality to come in when they knew it was probably to go straight on to the bench," Freedman told The Bolton News.

"But I'm delighted to have brought Arran in. He has games at this level and he will provide competition."
