Sanmi Odelusi has committed his long-term future to Bolton, by signing a new two-and-a-half year contract at the club.

Odelusi scored twice on his first competitive start for Wanderers - in a 3-1 win at Shrewsbury Town in August - and has since gone on to make a total of six appearances under the management of Dougie Freedman.

Speaking about his new contract, the 20-year-old says now isn't the time for complacency and he will continue to push his way towards first-team football at the Reebok Stadium.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new deal," Odelusi told the club's official website. "It's now time for me to get my head down and continue to work hard.

"I want to be pushing for more first team appearances. Hopefully I'll get my chance. I want to show people how much it means for me to be here.

"Since the manager and his staff came in I feel they have helped develop my game both on and off the pitch. I want that to continue."

With the likes of Chris Eagles, Lee Chung-Yong, Robert Hall and the on-loan Liam Feeney ahead of him in the pecking order, Odelusi has returned to the development squad in recent weeks but wasn't part of the side that won 7-2 at Blackpool on Tuesday.

His new deal will see him remain at the Reebok Stadium until the summer of 2016 and the news comes on the same day that it was announced Tom Youngs had signed professional terms with the Trotters.
