Millwall plan to recall Liam Feeney on October 26, unless Bolton can agree a deal beforehand to sign the player permanently in January.

Feeney joined Wanderers on a three-month loan in September, in a move that was originally met with skepticism by the majority of Trotters supporters. But the winger has won over his doubters with three impressive displays in his brief stay at the Reebok Stadium so far.

His form hasn't gone unnoticed by his parent club, who included a clause in the deal that allows them to recall the 26-year-old after 28 days. Lions boss Steve Lomas now looks set to invoke that clause, unless Wanderers can strike a deal to sign the player who falls out of contract at the end of the season.

Dougie Freedman would have liked more time to assess his loanee, but will now be rushed into a decision much earlier than he would have hoped. Following Millwall's decision to send James Henry on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Lomas is ready to provide Feeney with one final opportunity to claim a place in his side at The Den.
