Bolton boss Dougie Freedman believes his side's performance in Tuesday night's goalless draw at Blackpool mertited all three points.

Wanderers produced arguably their best display of the season at Bloomfield Road, but were left to rue missed chances as they were made to settle for a point against Paul Ince's men. Jermaine Beckford came closest for the Trotters, as he struck the post five minutes into the second half, and Freedman believes his team's luck will soon change.

The Bolton manager also had nothing but praise for his recent loan recruits - Kevin McNaughton, Neil Danns and Liam Feeney - who went a long way to winning over their doubters against the Seasiders.

Speaking to the club's official website, Freedman said: "It was a hugely spirited performance with huge desire shown - I won't accept the position that this football club is in.

"There were good bits of quality in the first half - we were playing against a team in Blackpool who are riding high, full of confidence and are very hard to beat at home.

"They were playing against my team tonight who haven't been playing with the most confidence, but they showed great desire and spirit and I thought we were the better team.

"If we'd had a little more luck tonight which I think will come because I think we're only an inch away, we will win games like that. Anybody who knows about football can see that during these past three or four games that we're very, very close.

"Liam Feeney was fantastic. I don't think too many people had heard of him before he came here, but I'm a manager who likes to pull these players out of the bag.

"Kevin McNaughton brings some defensive qualities and he's got that defensive instinct to know where to be, and his partnership with Liam was great tonight.

"I know Neil Danns from my Palace days and he's a wholehearted player - if treated right and managed right, he's a real top player and we've got a couple of decent ones in here."
