With September drawing to a close, it's time to take our monthly look at the progress of the Bolton players on loan at other clubs.

Keith Andrews, Marvin Sordell and Gary Fraser will spend the season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic and Partick Thistle, respectively, while Tom Eaves joined League One side Rotherham United on a three-month loan earlier in the month.

Eaves has yet to fully settle into his new surroundings at the New York Stadium, while Sordell and Fraser have spent more time on the bench than they have out on the pitch. So, the main news this month is the progress of Andrews and how he seems to be enjoying his football at the AMEX Stadium.

Written off by many Wanderers supporters before he even kicked a ball for the club, those same fans were quite happy to see the back of the Republic of Ireland international when he set off for the south coast last month. The 33-year-old was ineligible for their game against Bolton last weekend, but has appeared three times for the Seagulls throughout the month of September.

Other than the home game against the Trotters, Brighton faced three difficult away fixtures - playing out goalless draws at both Reading and Queens Park Rangers, before losing 2-0 at Ipswich Town on Saturday. Andrews completed 90 minutes in all three games, meaning he has now featured in six games for his new club, and is earning rave reviews from his new supporters.

A little further north, in London, Sordell also played three times in September, but started just once. Having played 69 minutes in a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town, the former England under-21 international was introduced as a 72nd minute substitute in a 1-0 defeat at home to Millwall before playing the final 22 minutes in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Burnley. Sordell has one goal to his name for the Addicks, but has yet to get on the scoresheet in the Championship this season.

Up in Scotland, Fraser failed to add to his four Partick Thistle appearances in August. The Jags played four times in September, but the 19-year-old failed to make it off the bench on the three occasions he made the matchday squad. His most recent disappointment was on Saturday, as he remained an unused substitute in a 1-1 draw at St Johnstone.

Finally, we end our round-up with a look at Eaves. Having impressed during loan stints at Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury Town last season, hopes are high that the 21-year-old will make another lasting impression in League One this term. He made his Millers debut as a 72nd minute substitute in a 1-1 draw at Walsall last weekend, before playing the final five minutes in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Peterborough United. Eaves will be hoping to see more regular action in October, with less than 30 minutes of action to his name so far.
