The Nat Lofthouse memorial statue will be unveiled at 10:45am on Saturday 24th August 2013, Bolton Wanderers have confirmed.

Plans to erect a statue were made public in January 2012, with the original planned unveiling date falling in line with what would have been Lofthouse's 88th birthday - August 27th.

Those plans have since changed, however, and Wanderers will now reveal the statue to supporters and the waiting media prior to the home match against Queens Park Rangers.

Supporters are urged to make their way to the Reebok Stadium for 10:30am, where an unveiling ceremony will begin 15 minutes later. Club chairman Phil Gartside and chaplain Phil Mason will both make short speeches, as will the statue's sculptor Sean Hedges-Quinn, before Wanderers owner Eddie Davies makes the official unveil.

Lofthouse's son, Jeff, will close the occasion by also saying a few words to the waiting public.
